Dust/soil indicates people, because they were created from it; and it may indicate livestock and beasts. It indicates the world and its wealth, because it is from the earth and by it the livelihood of creatures subsists — and the Arabs say "the man became dusty (atraba)" when he became rich. And it may indicate poverty, death, and the grave, because it is the bedding of the dead — and the Arabs say "the man became dusty (tariba)" when he became poor. Allah the Exalted said: "or a needy person in the dust (of misery)."

So whoever digs the ground and extracts its soil: if he is sick or has someone sick with him, then that is his grave.
