A rare anecdote: It is related that one of the trustworthy men saw as though he performed the Hajj in the year eight hundred and thirty-one, and he was informed in the dream that he would live after his return for such-and-such a period. He kept watching for that period until he passed beyond it, so he said: "I saw such-and-such," and he recounted his dream, marvelling at the breach of what he had been promised, and he said: "Had I not passed beyond the period, I would not have told anyone of it." It was said to him: "As for what you saw, there is a flaw in your reckoning, or it was jumbled dreams." So he set off for his house and died that very night.
